Whether you want a bonding day as a family, a teambuilding challenge for a company outing, or an exciting day for school classes, completing the High Ropes Course guarantees all quite a special day.
Our High Ropes Course exists high up among the tops of the tall pines of our area on Evjemoen. You need nothing more than suitable shoes, a good attitude, and the courage to venture into the unknown. Whether you are on the Flying Fox or crossing the Mohawk Walk, all that matters is overcoming your personal fears and daring to achieve. Our course ranges from ground-level to "Whew, that's high!" and everything in between, and demands some skill but mostly courage. In return, the course improves your balance and your control over your own body, as well as giving you the satisfaction and feeling that you have grown. Completing the course is immensely satisfying. A challenge for all! We provide all necessary safety equipment (ropes, helmets, etc), and our qualified guides lead you through the various elements. Something worthwhile for all ages.
Elements:
Mohawk Walk and Split-V- These are ground-level cables strung about 70 cms above the ground and secured to large pines. Here, you can test your balance and build your confidence for the higher elements, and have a partner whose feet are firmly on the ground to provide support if you need it.
Catwalk- Ten meters (35 feet) above you is a 20cm (8-inch) beam firmly attached to the tree on one end. The other end is tethered to another tree by a cable, which means the beam will move and sway, the closer to the tether you are, the better your balance has to be because the more the beam will sway. Once you reach the end, you are rewarded with a magnificent view of the river. Don't worry about having to walk back along the beam to the ladder to come down- those who dare may jump from the end for a thrilling descent (make sure the guide holding your safety lines is ready for it, otherwise you won't jump far!).
MultiLine- Eight meters above you is a taut steel foot cable stretched between two trees. Above that is another cable with two ropes hanging from it for your support. Two guests mount the foot cable by climbing to either end. Their objective is to cross to where their partner now stands. This sounds easy, but when two people share one cable, a lot of communication and teamwork is required! There are two helplines from above, but only one solution to master the element- teamwork!
Flying Fox- A platform stands twelve meters above you. From here, you perform the Death Jump. Well, you don't die, but it does require a lot of courage in overcoming the fear of leaping off into the air from such a height. For those who dare, there is a reward in the form of a cable slide 80 meters across the field to the ground. This element is addictive! Thrill-seekers always want more.
Giant's Ladder- This element cannot be mastered alone. You need at least two people. The rungs of the ladder are solid wood, but the sides are of cable, and the distance between the rungs grows until you reach the top 8 meters above the ground. The last rungs can only be reached through helping each other. The cable sides mean the rungs sway, which makes big challenges to your strength, balance, and teamwork with your partner.
Pampers Pole- this sounds easy, but is extremely difficult. You climb a pole 8 meters (26 feet) high and stand up on the 30cm (square foot) platform at the top. There are no handholds or helplines up there, and the height provides for the necessary respect. If you manage to get to the top and stand up, you will have to come down again. Here, when you are ready and have let the guide and your team know you are ready, you make the Leap of Faith into the air. Trust in your team and the guide is required for the successful completion of the element and safe landing. This is teambuilding of the special kind.
Every element requires mental support from the group, no matter whether the element is to be completed by individuals or pairs. Often has an individual surprised their group by displaying more courage and ability than he/she had previously been thought to have. Here, everyone earns well-deserved respect through their achievements in an atypical situation.
We offer the High Ropes Course with 3, 5, or all 7 elements. Tours last between 2-8 hours, depending on the size of the group.
