Bortelid Hotel

is a family and children's paradise and great store by exercise and activity. Åseral region and Bortelid is the southernmost gate to Norway's mountains. Bortelid is located in an attractive interesting landscape, after one to two kilometers of walking, you will be above the tree line.
After approx. 100 kms and a 1 - 11/2-hour drive from port and airport Kristansand, you will reach the cabin village Bortelid and Bortelid Hotel offering a hotel with approx. 50 beds and Fjellskole (self-catering) apartments and cabins.

Bortelid, with its woods and lakeland and the surrounding mountains above the tree line, offers excellent possibilities for all kind activities as well as for canoeing, mountain biking, training activities in the summer and winter time.

In winter, you can do curling and skating on the frozen lake. The cross-country ski run runs right along the hotel, and it is only a few minutes' walk to the ski centre with children's' lift, five ski tows, biathlon range and a bistro. Our own ICE IGLU and many different activities make our range of offers complete.

The sauna facilities are close to the lakeside. If you would rather toughen yourself in the snow, just walk a few steps. In addition, a rest room offers you the possibility of resting and relaxing. 

The inexpensive self-catering part is ideally suited for group travel. Activity programmes for your holiday may be individually arranged according to your wishes and requests. For child care, sports or activity arrangements, qualified instructors are available here. Regarding seminars, all kinds of courses are possible, also for larger groups. Cooperation with many different partners enable us to offer English-speaking instructors.
